Using the power of words
Our language is a powerful tool. But, instead of criticizing people, it pays to use our words wisely. These tips can help:
我们的语言是一个强大的工具。但是,与其用它批评或嘲讽别人,不如更聪明地使用我们的语言。看看下面的建议吧:
Practicing smooth speech and intelligent remarks (言辞) will ensure you won’t get too nervous under pressure.
练习可以用于正式场合的发言和更巧妙的表达方法可以让你在压力下不那么紧张。
For example, if someone got upset with you, what would you say back? These remarks might work: “I know you’re upset, but calm down and we’ll talk.” “You’re pushing all my buttons. I take offence at (对......生气) some of your language.” “We’re both adults here. Let’s not act crazy toward each other.”
举个例子:如果有人冲你发火,你会怎么回应他?这句话可能有用:“我知道你很生气,但不如冷静一下,我们谈谈怎么样?”、“你让我生气了,我对你的一些表达不太满意。”、“我们都是成年人了,不如冷静一点处理问题。”
The point is that you want to speak up for yourself. But you don’t want to ignite an explosion (激起怒火). State your feelings in a mature way. Intelligent language steers (引导) us toward good outcomes.
重点是你想为自己说话,表达自己的想法。但你并不想激怒对方,那不如用更成熟的语句表达你的感受。智慧的语言表让我们的生活更美好。
