Tiny, fuzzy (毛茸茸的) and chubby. That’s me. I’m a hamster (仓鼠). My big cheeks make me look cute. 
小巧可爱、毛茸茸、胖乎乎——这就是我！一只仓鼠。我圆圆的脸看起来很可爱吧！

My cheek pouch (颊囊) is not only cute. It is useful,  too. I use it like a bag. When I find something tasty, I hide it in my pouch. Peanuts, grapes, carrots — there are lots of delicious snacks in my “bag”. 

我的颊囊不仅“可以卖萌”，它还很实用！它就是我随身的收纳袋，当我发现有好吃的东西时，我就把它藏在里面——花生、葡萄、胡萝卜——好吃的很多吧！

Will it get full and break? No worries. My pouch can expand (伸展) to about three times my size! I might win the Guinness World Record for having the biggest mouth! 

你问我颊囊会撑到裂开吗？不用担心！我的颊囊可以伸展到我的三倍大哦！我可能会因为拥有最大的嘴巴而赢得吉尼斯世界纪录！（哈哈哈）

Unlike human cheeks, hamsters’ cheek pouches don’t have saliva (唾液). So they can keep their food safe and dry.  

和人类不一样，仓鼠的颊囊没有唾液。这样它们就能保证食物安全和干燥。

Hamsters carry more than just food in their pouches. They also carry bedding to make nests (巢). 

仓鼠的颊囊里不仅装着食物。它们还能随身携带筑巢用的材料，便于搭窝。

Mother hamsters sometimes carry their babies in their cheek pouches. It protects the babies.
