几年前，畅销书作家尼古拉斯·卡尔出版了《浅薄:互联网如何毒化了我们的大脑》一书。网络真的使我们变笨了么？

 

 

 

这种声音已经不是第一次出现了......

 

 

 

我们最熟悉的声音来自尼尔·波兹曼的“娱乐至死”。这本书里作者痛斥电视这个新兴媒介除了娱乐什么也不会。波兹曼十分怀念印刷术时代的理性精神，但通过读书来获取知识和锻炼思考的行为在网络时代遇到了更大的冲击。所以卡尔站出来高呼：“网络使我们变笨了！”

 

 

 

事实真的如此吗？

 

 

 

我们生活在一个信息时代，“上网”已经成为了我们日常生活必不可少的技能，但你知道如何正确地使用互联网，并从中受益吗？

 

We live in an information age. The Internet is an inevitable tool in our daily life. Almost every college student knows how to use the Internet, but do they really know how to benefit from it?

我经常看到朋友们上网看电影、聊天、玩游戏。在我看来，互联网使大学生懒惰，确实让人“变笨”了。

 

I often see my friends and classmates surf the Internet to watch movies, chat and play games. In my view, the Internet makes college students lazy and harms their intelligence.

In the process of gathering information,they don’t think about its credibility or if it’s authoritative enough to use in an academic context.They are just copying machines with no brains of their own.

互联网只是我们了解世界的一个工具，但并非所有的信息都是真实的，关键在于学会辨别。

 

The Internet is just a tool for us to know more about the world, but not all information on the Internet is true. The key point is that we should use our brains to process all this information.

 

正确地使用互联网

 

互联网不会让我们变笨，我们应该做的是思考如何更加正确地使用互联网，让互联网为我们服务，而不是成为互联网的奴隶，被它洗脑。

 

The Internet isn’t dumbing us down. The problem is in ourselves. We should use the Internet wisely and let the Internet serve our purposes rather than us becoming slaves to the Internet and brainwashed by it.
