Ausgabe Mitarbeitermagazin Beschichtungs-Gruppe Seiten 4 bis 10 / Wood Coatings   WOOD COATINGS PROJECT IN FULL SWING AND ON TRACK Over the last six months, substantial progress has been made on the WCD Project, which can be summed up as follows: Work Package 2 Construction and Transfer - Hinwil transfer completed Application Technology, which was formerly based at the Hinwil site, has been successfully transferred to its Urdorf location ahead of schedule. Production has been shifted to St. Margrethen with a daily delivery service to Hinwil. We would like to extend a big THANK YOU at this point to the former Hinwil team for their unrelenting efforts and support in this project.   Construction work is well underway on the new logistics hall and office building for Schekolin in Bendern following the groundbreaking ceremony on 15.10.2014 (see separate article on Page 14). In October, Schekolin’s Operations Director, Jürgen Ritter, arranged and led guided tours to also give the staff at Feyco the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Bendern premises and to take a look at both the construction work and the sophisticated process design. Work Package 4 Sales & Marketing – New FEYCO TREFFERT brand to be rolled out The corporate identity of Feyco and Treffert has been designed and suitably aligned to form a new, consolidated brand, which will be officially introduced to all internal and external partners in January next year.   Work Package 6 IT Implementations: Eureka implementation successfully carried out As part of Schekolin’s migration to the 'TREND' ERP System, the Eureka software has been used to extract all the technical data and formulations from TREND and compare this with its legislation and hazardous-symbol database. Once this was completed, Eureka was then able to generate Safety Data Sheets from the formulations in a large number of languages. Carmen Zanghellini (Schekolin) and her project team, including Angelika Trucks-Menzler (Feyco), have put a great deal of effort into migrating hundreds of formulations into the new ERP system. Many hours have been spent on checking the formulations at a high speed, so as to not exceed the deadline for TREND implementation. Showing great dedication and commitment, the work they have done has prevented delays to the project while also keeping future quality issues down to a minimum. Work Package 7 HR: Consultation procedure initiated and underway With the planned transfer of Feyco's production to Bendern and the exploitation of synergy effects through closer cooperation with Schekolin AG, it is expected that the Feyco workforce will be cut back within the next two years. Feyco has thus initiated a consultation procedure with the Employee Committee and the relevant Cantonal Employment Offices with the clear intention of implementing the planned workforce reduction in a socially responsible manner. Europe Summit Meeting 2014 A total of 24 members from Treffert Alzenau and the Feyco Management met up at the Silvretta Sport Hotel Montafon in Gaschurn (Austria) from 6-7 November 2014 with the aim of familiarizing themselves with the new WCD corporate strategy in greater detail and engaging in brainstorming sessions for a new vision and mission, as well as working out a preliminary roadmap for both the Industry and Carpentry Business Unit. It was amazing to see how the two teams integrated and interacted during the two-day meeting, which also resulted in some interesting business cases being developed during this short period of time. On the third day, the team adjourned to Schekolin where Jürgen Ritter once again gave an insightful guided tour of the premises. The event ended with a hearty Bavarian lunch. All in all, it was a highly productive get-together and an efficient platform for exchanging ideas and getting to know each other better on both a personal and a work level. Industry Europe Business Unit: Opening new doors The Sales Team for the Doors business segment under the leadership of Klaus Siebenbrock has remarkably managed to open quite a few new doors in Europe within just a short period of time. These include Westag & Getalit (Germany) and Berkvens (the Netherlands) to name but two. Furthermore, a number of interesting ideas for innovations emerged during the brainstorming sessions at the Europe Summit Meeting, which could be of interest to both our existing and potential door manufacturers and are not available in the market, thus making them worth exploring.
