Beachgoers in Gulf Shores, Ala., defended their decision to take to the beach over Memorial Day weekend in a now-viral clip.

CNN's Gary Tuchman interviewed beachgoers in the Alabama city as area police sought to enforce social distancing between groups on the crowded shore.

采访中，一位刚刚毕业的女大学生对CNN记者表示，每个人都会离开，你明白我的意思吗？

她表示，自己并不想死，但如果是上帝的安排，她愿意接受。

One woman told the outlet: "I mean everybody's got to go somehow, you know what I mean?

"In a way, I don't want to die, but I mean, if that's what God has in store for my life, then that's okay," she continued.

还有一名女士表示，海滩上风很大，会把病毒吹跑的，所以不戴口罩也没关系，尽管此前记者已经和她说明了不戴口罩的风险。

One woman on the beach said that "there's enough wind and air that's going to clear it all out of here." Tuchman told the woman that the virus could still pose a risk.

Another man on the beach who was not wearing a mask noted to the outlet that President Trump has regularly not worn a mask during the pandemic.

"I mean, if he's not wearing a mask, I'm not going to wear a mask. If he's not worried, I'm not worried," the man said.

总之，据CNN报道，当天在海滩上，还真没人戴口罩……

记者塔奇曼称，当地警方表示，当天尚未发生逮捕违反防疫要求游客的情况，警方只是做出了一些警告。

There were no beachgoers wearing masks, CNN reported. Tuchman said in the Monday report that the Gulf Shores Police Department said it had issued no arrests over individuals violating coronavirus precautions, although it had issued "several warnings."

对此，阿拉巴马州蒙哥马利市市长史蒂文·里德 (Steven Reed) 在接受CNN采访时表示了担忧。

“It gives me pause to think about what we may see in the next week or two when people get back to their communities from their vacations down on the Gulf Coast.”
