In autumn, there is less sunlight. The body produces more melatonin (褪黑素). Melatonin is a hormone (激素) that tells our brain to sleep. So it’s natural to feel sleepy with less sunlight. 入秋后,日照时间变短,褪黑素分泌相对增加。而褪黑素能调节人体睡眠,所以很多人一到秋天就容易犯困啦~
When the temperature drops, our body loses more heat. So we eat more high-calorie food to keep warm. This makes our body release insulin (胰岛素), which lowers our blood sugar. This process can make people feel sleepy, too. 随着气温的下降,人们为了保暖会食用更多高热量食物。因此身体也会分泌更多胰岛素来降低血糖,这个过程也会让人觉得困倦。
